Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, September 16, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Gurdon Senior Adult Center has been playing bingo on Monday of the month and Mrs. Tommy Rhodes has been teaching crafts each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We have been making some really pretty things. The monthly board meeting will be Thursday, September 17, and the monthly council meeting will be Tuesday, September 22. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Stafford attended the National Association of Community Action Conference in Miami Beach, Fla. It started on September 1 and lasted for several days. The theme of the conference was 'Helping People Help Themselves.' Part of the theme was for communities to help build up America's future. Approximately 2,000 people attended the conference. Activity director Cindy Rhodes has taken the job of site supervisor at the Arkadelphia Center. She will start her job Monday. Best of luck, Cindy.
