Anyone who has a pet they have not seen in a few days should check the bulletin board at City Hall. All animals picked up are held five days before being put to death. An area tent revival will be held at Curtis Junction September 27-October 2. Services begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Everyone is invited to attend. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will offer a hunter's education class September 23 and 24 in the Gurdon High School student center from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. The course is free and is open to everyone. For more information call Sam Westmoreland at 353-6467. The two-day course must be successfully completed for any hunter who was born after December 31, 1968, to be able to hunt, or if you are a concerned sportsman or wildlife enthusiast. You must attend all class sessions to complete the course. There will be a fellowship program at Bethel A.M.E. Church Sunday, September 27, at 3:00 p.m. Special guest will be Southern Gospel Singers of Vaden. Guest churches include: Providence A.M.E. Church of the Kansas community and Union A.M.E. Church of the Whelen circuit. Speaker of the hour will be Rev. Fostine Quarles. Everyone and all churches are invited to attend. Diamond Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding an adult and child CPR class on October 6 and 7 for anyone who is interested in learning CPR. The time is from 6:00 to 10:00 each night at Diamond Valley Chapter office, 636 Main Street, Arkadelphia. The cost is $20 per person. Registration deadline is October 2. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Night classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Classes are free. Call 870-353-4555 for more information. Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon. For information, phone 353-6138.
