Loves Move Closer To RealityPublished Wednesday, September 23, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneThere have been some recent developments shared by the city of Prescott and The Partnership, of which Walt Denton is director. A representative from Love's Travel Center met with city officials on Tuesday, September 15. The purpose of the meeting was to begin plans for the new Love's Travel Center, which will be located off Exit 46 leading into Prescott. City officials are working with Love's to prepare the site. Construction could start as soon as December. On September 15, Mayor Howard Taylor, Denton and Mike Burke of NRS met with members of the Arkansas Highway Commission. The meeting regarded the approved $73,000 TEA-21 grant to be used for interstate access and beautification of the 154-acre Prescott/Nevada County Industrial Park along I-30. The meeting fulfilled part seven of a 42-step process to use the federal funds. The city of Prescott and the Highway Commission are working closely to move the project along as quickly as possible. Taylor announced Red River Knitting the $1 million sweater and knitted apparel plant is continuing its steady growth and is now up to 87 employees, up from approximately 65 employees three months ago.
