DeCrane And Thompson Wed July 18Published Wednesday, September 23, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Kristin Ruth DeCrane became the bride of Wesley Allen Thompson in a Saturday afternoon ceremony July 18 at the Ireland Road Church of God in Meskawake, Ind. Rev. J. Mark Muncy officiated the double ring ceremony. A program of nuptial music was provided by Todd Hilibard. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall DeCrane of Mishawaka and the granddaughter of Mr. Albert DeCrane and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Martin of Hillman, Mich. The groom is the son of Mrs. Chris Frazier of Misawaka, and Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson of Prescott. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Frazier of Indiana and Mrs. Christine Frazier of Indiana and Mr. and Mrs. Ishmael Thompson of Prescott. The guest book was attended by Michelle Cole. The auditorium was encased with miniature white lights entwined with gold ribbon. The candlelighters Eric DeCrane and Rev. Paul Freet lit the eight candles on the brass candelabrum featuring white carnations, fern and gold bows. Mothers of the bride and the groom lit one candle each on the unity table and were then seated. The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, was beautiful in a formal length gown of white satin and lace accented by sequins and pearls. The dress featured an off the shoulder bodice with short lace sleeves and a dropped waist with a detachable bow that formed the train. The veil of bridal illusion was secured to a headband of white satin roses. She wore a pearl necklace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white daisy, white roses and ivy. In her shoe, she wore a sixpence placed there by the last bride in the family, Connie Peters. The sixpence has been a family tradition for three quarters of a century. The maid of honor, Kara Ellen DeCrane, of Mishawaka, sister of the bride, wore a navy floor length gown featuring a square neckline and short sleeves. She carried a bouquet of daisies and ivy. She also wore a pearl necklace. Bridesmaids, Kelly Jean Swiek and Susan Ellen DeCrane, sisters of the bride, and Michelle Lee Young, friend of the bride, wore matching dresses and carried identical bouquets. Flower girl Danielle Alexandria Balzano and Victoria Grace Cole wore white floor length dresses and carried white baskets featuring gold bows. Ring bearer, Andrew Charles DeCrane, nephew of the bride, wore a traditional black tuxedo with navy tie and vest matching the other male attendants. Serving as best man was brother of the bride and best friend of the groom, Brian Randall DeCrane. Groomsmen were Eric William DeCrane, Chad Arron Muncy, Paul Edward Freet Jr. and Christopher Steven Muncy. Vocalist Maxie Edwards and Danielle Hibbard presented Parents Pray. Vows were exchanged and If You Could See What I See was sung by Maxie Edwards. Rings were exchanged before an alter featuring white roman columns holding brass urns filled with ivy and brass candelabrums and miniature lights. Kristin and Wesley then lit the unity candle with the two candles their mothers had previously lit. Two Hearts was presented by Maxie Edwards and Danielle Hibbard. The couple was then introduced to the guests. After the ceremony, a sit down dinner was served in the fellowship hall of the church. The best man gave a toast welcoming Wesley to the family and guests toasted the couple with non-alcoholic champagne. Chris Frazier read a poem to the groom that she had composed. Candles were given to each of the guests by the couple as they circulated throughout the room visiting with each quest. After a honeymoon trip to Los Vegas, Nev., and Palm Desert, Calif., the couple will make their home in Mishawaka. Courtesies The bride was honored with a bridal shower by Mrs. Sandy and Marylin DeCrane, aunts of the bride, and the bridesmaids. The couple hosted the rehearsal supper in the fellowship hall on Friday, July 17. Those traveling to the wedding from Arkansas were Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson, Connie Peters and Patricia Kirkham from Prescott and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Taylor from Lonoke.
