RedlandHazel MeeksPublished Wednesday, September 23, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune The weather played a trick on me, so no electric blanket yet. Betty and Roy Cagle have really had their share of company recently Roy's sister, Lola Cagle, from Ft. Worth; Betty's sister, Chris Harris, from Sheridan; a good friend of Roy's, Phil Hacker; and Bob and Marion Baker all from Fairbanks, Alaska. Gary and Alice Meeks from North Little Rock spent Thursday with Neil and me. Sam and Patsy Rowe from Alvin, Texas, spent a few days with her mother, Thais McLelland. John, Gina, Erica and Ryan Burdue spent the weekend in Kirby with his mother, Wynell Nash. Jackie and Frances Bidwell spent the weekend in Monroe, La., with Nell and Howard McDaniel. About 30 members of the adult Sunday school class of Shady Grove Baptist Church enjoyed potluck and visiting on Friday night. Out of town guests attending our great grandson Caleb Lowdermilk's first birthday party on Saturday were his grandparents, Betty and Tim Wilson from Texarkana, his uncles and aunt, Chris and Ginger Meeks from Dallas, and Casey Meeks and Lauren McNeal from Ole Miss. Of course we were there even though we live in Prescott grandparents, Ronnie and Barbara Lowdermilk, and the great grandparents, Neil and me. Those having lunch with Leola Faye and Bill Ridling Sunday were their son, Bil,l and his children, Greg, Dodie and family, Carol and son. Harvey and Faye have returned from a vacation trip to Florida and other points of interest. Donald Ingersoll's family recently honored him with a surprise birthday party at Crossroads. Those attending were Terrell and Oljie Ingersoll, Frank and Freida Jo Couch, Melisa Robbins of Nathan, Juanita Moore of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kay and Earl Haynie and Nick, Donna and Nick St. Clair and certainly his wife Pat. But the odd thing, there was no mention of age.
