Wilson Named Top VolunteerPublished Wednesday, September 30, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesMrs. Eulah Wilson of Gurdon has been voted this year's outstanding volunteer for the Gurdon Senior Center, Charlotte Shepherd, director of the center, announced last week. Mrs. Wilson has been a volunteer for the center for the past eight years. She has lived in Gurdon for 46 years. She always has a smile and a warm greeting to everyone who attends the center, according to Shepherd. Mrs. Wilson primarily serves in the capacity of hostess Monday through Friday the year round. She is eager to offer assistance when and where needed. She also serves on the board of directors of the Gurdon Council on Aging. "Everyone at the center is like family," Mrs. Wilson said. "The meals are great and so is the fellowship. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy our center." She has two living children, Doyle Wilson of Hot Springs and Helen Wilson of Gurdon. She also has two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Shepherd, who is also director of Arkadelphia Senior Adult Center, expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Wilson and to all the many volunteers who help keep the centers running. Mrs. Wilson will receive a special recognition plaque at the annual board appreciation banquet October 9. The center will also host an annual appreciation reception this fall for all of its volunteers.
