Candlelight Ceremony Unites CouplePublished Wednesday, September 30, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesAndy McClure and Pamla Davis exchanged wedding vows in a beautiful candlelight service Saturday, September 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church in Harrisburg. Rev. Glen Cox performed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Peggy Davis of Harrisburg. The bridegroom is the son of A.B. and Nancy McClure of Gurdon. The sanctuary was decorated with a heart shaped wedding arch enhanced with burgundy and white roses and greenery and spiral candle holders. The pews were accented with burgundy roses and white taffeta bows. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white satin gown with sequins and pearls, featuring long sleeves, lace and a large bow in the back of the dress. The veil of bridal illusion was secured to a headband of white satin. She carried a bouquet of burgundy and white roses with lace. Christie Hatley served as maid of honor. Lisa McClure served as bridesmaid. They wore burgundy dresses and carried a bouquet of white and burgundy roses with white and burgundy ribbon streamers. The flower girls were Kayla Davis, Alayna Payne and Felisha Davis, nieces of the bride, and Kristen McClure, niece of the groom. The flower girls wore burgundy dresses accented with white roses and carried white flower baskets and dropped rose petals as they walked down the aisle. Ryan and Sean Davis, nephews of the bride, were the ring bearers. They carried the rings on white satin pillows with burgundy bows. They wore black suits with burgundy ties. The groom wore a white dynasty tuxedo with white bow tie and cummerbund. Donnie Davis was best man. Josh Stricklin was the groomsman. They wore black tuxedos with burgundy bow ties and cummerbund. Wedding music was provided by Alicia Owens. She performed The Wedding Song. The couples song, From This Moment On, was played during the lighting of the unity candle. Ushers and candle lighters were Jerry Paul Davis, brother of the bride, and Aaron McClure, brother of the groom. The reception was decorated with burgundy and white. White lace table clothes and angels accented the tables. Pictures of the bride and groom when they were young were placed on the tables. The bride's cake was white and three-tiered with burgundy and white roses on top of a flowing water fountain. The groom's cake was chocolate and decorated with bowling pins and ball.
