Can you believe it will be time for the 18th Annual Gurdon Forest Festival in a few scant weeks?

The 1998 version of the festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31. The festival is again sponsored by Gurdon's Community Development and Entertainment Club (CD&E).

According to Chairman Freddie Horne, a large arts and crafts show is expected to return again this year, and the antique car show is all but set.

Additionally, he said, most of the entertainment is in place for the festival, and pretty much everything is ready for the parade and street dance.

One thing not ready for the parade is the festival royalty. Plans are currently underway for the annual Forest Festival Pageant to select this year's queen and her court.

The festival will again kick off with the Rotary Club's pancake breakfast. There will be plenty of other vendors for food and games, along with contests and static displays.

For more information contact Horne at 353-2588 or Terry Norris at 353-2947.
