Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, October 7, 1998 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Senior Adult Center was a busy place during September. The few days in October have been busy also. Thursday, October 1, Beatrice Stafford played the piano for us and we had a good time singing hymns that we have known all our lives. Friday, October 2, was show and tell day. Mrs. Tommy Rhodes will be at the center Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to help with crafts. Mrs. Rhodes has taught us how to make some fantastic crafts. We really appreciate all she has done for the center. Bingo will be played on Monday. Our love and prayers are with those who have been ill, and those who are in the hospital, Gladys Sherman and Harrell and Geneva Everitt. Our county coordinator, Charlotte Shepherd, and Julia Russell from the Malvern office visited the center Friday, October 2. We again thank those who have been delivering lunches to the homebound, Clarence and Martha Haltom, Ollie Jean Allen, Gloria Bennett and Billy Jean Miller. Ann Smith and Charlyne Wells have been going on the van to help also. We wish to thank our volunteers for the work they are doing. Beatrice Stafford decorated the birthday window for October. It is very pretty. Thanks, Beatrice. An invitation is extended to all those who would like to join us. We have good fellowship, fun, good food and a wonderful staff. We would again like to mention that Eulah Wilson will be our outstanding volunteer for 1998. She works at the registration desk. The center is a United Way Agency.
