Clark County Fair board will meet Thursday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

The Gurdon High School class of 1948 will celebrate its 50th reunion on Friday, October 16, and/or Saturday, October 17. The reunion will be held at DeGray State Park Lodge. Twenty- five members have made plans to attend.

On Saturday morning the group will be visiting the new Gurdon High School and Cabe Middle School.

The City of Gurdon has an animal control ordinance in effect. Anyone who has a pet they have not seen in a few days should check the bulletin board at City Hall. All animals picked up are held five days before being put to death.

There will be fifth quarter held at First Baptist Church in Gurdon this Friday, October 9, following the football game. Central Baptist College's Impact Team will be performing skits and food will be provided at no cost. All area youth in grades seven through 12th are invited.

Bethlehem Baptist Church will be celebrating its 147th anniversary and annual homecoming, Sunday, October 11. There will be a potluck dinner and singing in the afternoon.

Central Arkansas Development Council is no longer accepting applications for summer energy assistance or Crisis Energy Assistance. The programs ended September 30.

Revival services continue through October 10 at Oak Grove Community Church with Rev. and Mrs. Joe Sullivan from Loco, Okla. Everyone is invited. Services begin at 7:00 p.m.

Gurdon Adult Education classes are open. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Night classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Classes are free. Call 870-353-4555 for more information.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
