Published Wednesday, October 7, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

Nevada County and Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation are sponsoring a county poultry promotion poster contest with one county winner in each division going on to the state contest.

The theme for posters entered in the contest should be poultry production, poultry marketing, utilization, nutrition or other related topics in keeping with the objectives of the contest.

The objectives are to:

  • enhance local efforts to promote poultry through publicity received on posters entered in the county contest; and
  • provide an educational tool for grade school students, making them better informed about the poultry industry.
The rules for county and state contest are:
  • students in grades first, second or third, and in grades four, five and six (competition for two groups) may enter;
  • student must have name, grade, address, phone, county and school on back of poster;
  • entry must be prepared on poster board not exceeding 25"x 35";
  • entry can be three-dimensional, but not over three inches thick; and
  • county awards will be awarded to winners.
First place winners at state contest will receive $100 and second place winner will receive $50 in each category of competition.
