Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellow ship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, October 22, Tuesday, November 24, and Tuesday, December 22, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

SWADC Project Literacy of Nevada and Hempstead Counties will sponsor two Laubach workshops during the month of October. Both will be held at the Split Rail facility.

The first will be October 23 and 24. The second will be October 30 and 31. Both will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The free workshops will certify those attending the sessions in the Laubach method of tutoring. Call 887-5536 or 777-8892 to enroll for the opportunity to help someone learn how to read.

The 1942 graduates of Prescott High School are having a reunion at the First Baptist church in Prescott October 17.

Saturday, October 17, at 6:30 p.m. Richard Ross, Nathaniel Crane, Shirley Allen Cooper, The Reconciled, Russ Carlton and Gospel Truth will be featured at Grandpa's Place, Highway 355 East in Patmos.

Hillcrest Care and Rehab will be hosting the seventh district AHCA Nursing Home Queens Pageant October 15 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church's gym.

This promises to be a very exciting event, as usual. Everyone is asked to support of the local residents.

The annual potluck meeting of the Morrow Cemetery Association will be held on Sunday, October 25, at 1 p.m. in the Prescott Authority building.

The graduating class of 1950 will have a reunion October 16 and 17 at the First Baptist Church in Prescott in the recreation building.

At both meetings the group will meet at 7 p.m. Friends are welcome to visit on Friday night. For further information, call Maxine Freeman at 870-887-2267.

A revival at First Church of the Nazarene in Prescott with Rev. Harrell and Carol Rodebush will be held Wednesday, October 14, through Sunday, October 18.

Services will be nightly at 7:00, and Sunday at 10:40 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Prescott will be celebrating its pastor's, Rev. Joe Battle, third anniversary October 16-18.

Special guests will be Rev. James Conway of St. Luke No. 2 on Friday night at 7:30; Bishop Hawthorne of True Deliverance House of Prayer on Saturday night at 7:30; and Rev. Ramond Gill of Union Baptist church on Sunday, October 18 at 2:30 p.m.
