Chester Fort, and wife appreciation Sunday, October 18. Rev. James will be bringing the message. He is the pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willisville. Members of Young Circuit will be celebrating their pastor, Rev. Lesley Banks, and wife with appreciation the fourth Sunday evening in October. We really did have good services Sunday at Bethel A.M.E. Church. Our guest at church Sunday was Calvin Tidwell from Houston, Texas. He was visiting his uncle Olandis Tidwell at Oak Grove Golden Star. Chapter 359 O.E.S.P.H.A. Jurisdiction of Arkansas Peaks Memorial and Star Day was held Sunday. October 11. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Rosston with Rev. Bobby Young, pastor, and Rev. E. Jenkins, guest speaker and pastor Whites Chapel A.M.E. Church. Fall festival 1998 Golden Star Chapter 359 O.E.S.P.H.A fifth annual Fall Fest will be held Saturday, November 7, at 6:30 p.m. Oak Grove Day Care Center's annual conference will be held at Malvern starting Wednesday, October 28. Rev. W.G. Wern is the pastor. The last quarterly conference was held at Bethel in Rosston last week. All pastors from the Magnolia District were present. The presiding Elder, Rev. Thomas Adair, brought the message. His text was 'How Close Are We to Hell?' We had a full house. Thanks goes out to the Magnolia District for its support to the presiding elder and leadership. There will be a Crusade for Christ in Waldo across from E-Z Mart. It started October 11 and is continuing. Key speaker will be Bro. Jiffers Jefferson on October 15 and 16. There will be a gospel meeting October 18-23 with Bro. Gilbert of Malvern doing the preaching. Everyone is welcome to attend. The theme is 'What Does the Bible Say?' Geoge Kendrick went to the V.A. hospital for a checkup. He has a new doctor. The medicine he gave him seems to be helping him. Zeker Martin drove for us. I don't know how we would make it if it wasn't for him. He is so much help and has so much patience. Gladys Blakely is in the hospital in Hope. She is not doing well. Let's pray for her. There will be a cemetery meeting at New Salem Saturday at 10 a.m. I am asking all of you who are interested to come out. We need limbs picked up at the cemetery.
