TEA Coalition To Develop Core Funding Plan

The Clark County TEA Coalition is in the process of developing an implementation plan and application for Core funding. The plan and application will allow the TEA Coalition to develop local strategies for delivering services to those in need in Clark County.

The coalition is comprised of and open to individuals, businesses and agencies in Clark County representing all facets of the area, including: local businesses, churches, health organizations, civic organizations, state government and other interested parties or organizations.

TEA stands for Transitional Employment Assistance, which is an assistance program for families to help provide them with basic support services while they make the transition toward employment and self sufficiency.

The goals of the coalition are to assist Clark County welfare recipients move from cash assistance to continuous employment and to establish an integrated family support network that will permanently reduce the number of new families in the county who need long-term cash assistance.

With these goals in mind, the coalition is actively seeking participation from any provider who has services to offer in the following areas: child care, transportation, teen pregnancy, economic job development and elimination of employment barriers which include substance abuse, education and physical and mental illness.

Any person or agency wishing to submit a proposal to offer services in any of these areas should do so by October 21. The proposals may be submitted to Charlotte Moore, P. O. Box 972, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
