GHS Band SuperiorPublished Wednesday, October 14, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThe Gurdon High School marching band recently competed in the Four States Marching Contest in Texarkana, Texas. The color guard earned an excellent rating and the drum major and percussion earned a superior rating. The band has three judges who also judge all groups together as a unit and all three judges said the band earned a superior rating. Band spotlights are as follows: for the last week of September Rebakah Giles was chosen. October 4-8 band spotlights were Annie Otwell and Christy Stiffler. Band spotlights are awarded to students who show improvement and are dedicated band students who are well prepared and good citizens who treat others with respect and are admired by their peers.
