The Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute commodity foods at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center at 410 E. Main on October 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Commodities are available to persons meeting financial guidelines.

A gospel singing concert will be held October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Church of God on Highway 67 South. The featured group is Messengers of Hope. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon at the Gurdon Municipal Building October 22 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. For more information or an appointment, call 353- 2514. New applicants are welcome..

The Gurdon High School class of 1948 will celebrate its 50th reunion on Friday, October 16, and/or Saturday, October 17. The reunion will be held at DeGray State Park Lodge. Twenty- five members have made plans to attend.

On Saturday morning the group will be visiting the new Gurdon High School and Cabe Middle School.

Gurdon Adult Education classes are open. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Night classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Classes are free. Call 870-353-4555 for more information.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
