Turn Clocks Back Sunday

It's time once again to roll clocks back an hour as Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 a.m.

However, instead of getting up at this hour, it is suggested people set their clocks back an hour before going to bed Saturday night.

The adage with daylight savings time tells people to "spring forward," and "fall back."

The GHS basketball booster club will meet November 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cabe Middle School library. All interested parties are urged to attend.

Phyllis Hughes of the Clark County Extension Homemakers will give a workshop on how to make Victorian lamp shades on Wednesday, October 28, at 9:30 p.m. in the EHC kitchen at the fairgrounds.

Second appreciation services for Rev. and Mrs. A. R. Parham will be held Sunday, October 25, at Bethel A.M.E. Church at 3:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Guest churches are Good Hope A.M.E. of Chidester and Church of God of Gurdon. Speaker of the hour will be Rev. Ivory Currey of Prescott.

Oak Grove Community Church is having a singing this Saturday night, October 24, at 7:00. Everyone is invited to attend. Special singing group is Feature and Glory from Taylor.

Muldrew Chapel C.M.E. Church, located on the corner of 4th and Jones Street in Gurdon, will conduct a fall musical on Saturday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. Participants include Sis. Flozelle Hawthorn, Bro. Johnnie Lyons and Sis. Sally Ann Hatley and group. Everyone is invited to attend.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon at the Gurdon Municipal Building October 22 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. For more information or an appointment, call 353- 2514. New applicants are welcome..

Gurdon Adult Education classes are open. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Night classes meet on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Classes are free. Call 870-353-4555 for more information.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
