Luther Jerald ParkerPublished Wednesday, October 28, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneLuther Jerald Parker, 57, of Fordyce died Wednesday, October 21, 1998, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La. Mr. Parker was born February 14, 1941, in Shongaloo, La., to John William and Ava Dick Parker. He was a retired millwright with Georgia Pacific and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cotton Valley, La. Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Wicker Parker of Fordyce; one son, Gerald Wayne Parker of Logansport, La.; one daughter, Terri Denice Southall of Thornton; four brothers, Junior Parker and Roderick Parker both of Springhill, La., Huey Parker of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Roy Parker of Minden, La.; one sister, Orene Butcher of Oregon; a special sister-in-law, Janie Hood of Shreveport, La.; and two granddaughters, Shelby Logan Parker and Hattie Michelle Parker. Funeral services were Friday, October 23, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. S. Nichols and Rev. O'Neal Milligan officiating.
