Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, October 28, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having. Be sure to stop by the Gurdon Senior Adult Center booth at the Forest Festival. We will have crafts, homemade cakes, pies and coffee. On Saturday evening we will have a fish fry at the center. We will start serving at 5:30 p.m. The price will be $6 for adults. The monthly celebration for October birthdays will be on Thursday, October 29. Those who will be enjoying the birthday cake donated by Piggly Wiggly will be Autrey Horne, Jim Hatley, Mae Vanna Cook, Alma Lee, Dorothy Craighead, Phelson Killingsworth, Lola Stewart, Mary Lou Capps, Earlene Self, Howard Thomas, Harold Brady, Beatrice Stafford, Harry Thomas, Mildred Bittle, J. W. Wingfield, D.W. Bryan, Louise Davies, Lue Schoonover and Roland Walters. The center's activity director, Sally Kirkland, has been keeping us busy. Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
