Gurdon Band Receives Superior RatingPublished Wednesday, November 4, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThe Gurdon High School band earned a superior rating at the Region Three marching contest in Arkadelphia recently. This is the third superior rating the band has earned this year. The band is now eligible to try to earn the very prestigious sweepstakes award. The sweepstakes award is only earned by bands which make a superior rating at the regional level in marching, concert and sight reading contest. The band is one-third of the way there. It has earned all superior ratings from nine different band judges this year. This should leave no doubt of the quality of each of their performances.
