Thursday, October 29, the Gurdon Senior Adult Center celebrated October birthdays as well as Halloween.

Witches were roaming around the room; skeletons, ghosts, cobwebs and spiders were hung on the walls and lights.

Watson Smith, Lillian Manson, Alvin Sandidge, Winnie Williams and Bernice Freeman were the winners in the cake walk.

Pauline Nelson, Mildred Ferguson and Sally Kirkland were our witches. Mildred Ferguson won the prize. We even had a fortune teller, Sybil Harris.

The second grade students, under the direction of Jerry Childers, sang for the seniors on Friday.

We wish to thank all the volunteers who helped at the booth and also the fish fry on Saturday at the Forest Festival.

We would like to welcome Mrs. Jewel Thurmond, who is back with us.

The senior adults are playing bingo on Mondays and singing good, old gospel songs on Wednesday as well as other activities. Some like to just sit and visit with their friends.

The senior adults in Gurdon don't know what they are missing by not attending the Senior Adult Center.

Our love and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones. Some of our seniors have not been able to attend because of illness.

This writer was happy to have her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Mike White from South Bend, Ind., visit her over the weekend.

Come and join us. The center is a United Way Agency.
