Club NewsPublished Wednesday, November 4, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneHelping Hands EHC The Bluff City Helping Hands Extension Homemakers Club met October 8 at the Church of Christ. There were nine members present. The meeting was called to order by Marguerite Tomlin, president. Roll call was taken by Laverne Green, secretary. Everyone answered with 'My Favorite Bulbs.' Tulips, daffodils, iris, jonquils and amaryllis were favorites. Club Collect was read by Ruth Sullivan. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Laverne Green and approved. Ruth Sullivan gave the treasurer's report. A trip to see Christmas lights was discussed by all. Going to Prescott, Camden and Marshall were mentioned. Oleta Nelson and Vernell Loe had charge of the program for the month. All the members discussed the different kinds of flowering bulbs, rizhomes and tubers. The members planted a few bulbs in pots to force bloom hopefully for Christmas. The meeting was then adjourned and potluck was enjoyed by all.
