Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellowship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday

evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991.

A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, October 22, Tuesday, November 24, and Tuesday, December 22, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213.

Mom's In Touch Pray group now has a mail box number for the teachers and faculty. The number is 887-6262.

The PHS Student Council has a few Curley Wolf fund raising items long and short sleeved T-shirts, key chains and bags left at the Chamber of Commerce office.

These items have been marked down for quick sell. They will make excellent Christmas gifts. All proceeds go to the PHS Student Council.

There will be a county-wide meeting on Thursday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Nevada County Extension office in Prescott for all youth and 4-H members who are interested in having a livestock project.

Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development District will hold a meeting of the board of directors Wednesday, November 11, at the Western Sizzlin Restaurant in Hope. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

A representative for Main Street Arkansas will be in town today, Wednesday, November 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bank of Prescott.

He will give a presentation about what the Main Street Program is about.

The public is welcome.

There will be a time for questions and answers after the presentation. If you have any questions call Walt Denton at 887-6208.

The Prescott Athletic Booster Club will sponsor a chili supper Thursday, November 5, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m in the Prescott Elementary cafetorium.

For tickets, contact any football player or booster club member. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Carry-outs are available.

First Baptist Church of Prescott will host a 'second blessing,' clothes closet Saturday, November 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

It will be held in the gymnasium of the church. All types of clothes will be available from infants through adults. There is no charge for the clothes or admission.

The Nevada County Unit of The American Cancer Society will have the first meeting of The Nevada County Cancer Support Group on Thursday, November 12, at 7 p.m. at the St. Michael community room in Prescott on Highway 67 North.

This will be an organizational type meeting to consider the exact needs to set up a program text that will meet these needs.

Emmet PTA will not meet on November 5, because of a basketball game is scheduled. The PTA will meet on November 12 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.
