Nevada County DHS To Have An Angel TreePublished Wednesday, November 4, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneNevada County Department of Human Services (DHS) is sponsoring a Christmas Angel Tree for Nevada County's needy children. Applications are being taken from through November 11 for children ages 12 and under who are in need. These applications may be completed at the Nevada County DHS office, located at 355 West First Street in Prescott. This program is open to low income Nevada County residents who are not receiving assistance through other Christmas programs. Those making application should have clothes and shoe size available along with other gift requests. There is no guarantee that all angels will be taken, but the DHS will try to assist as many as possible. A numbering system will be used to identify what angel belongs to a name. Names will be kept confidential. Families will need to have a telephone number where they can be reached when the gifts arrive to the DHS office. For more information, you may call 887-6626. Angels will be placed at several locations in Prescott on November 18. Those who wish to participate in helping provide Christmas for a child, may pick up an angel at that time or come by the office to pick one up. Those taking an angel are being asked to bring gifts with the angel attached to the DHS office by December 11 so that distribution can be made. Monetary donations will be used to buy gifts for angels who were not chosen. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
