BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, November 11, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune This is Monday and we have a foggy winter day and have quite a bit of rain. Doyle Everett and Elva Jane Hooks of Fort Worth, Texas, spent Friday with his mother, Cathrine Hooks, and Mae Blount. Lenord and Sammy House were honored with a birthday dinner Sunday by Faye House. Others enjoying this occasion were Sammy's wife, Kaye, and children, Jason and Lauren. Herbie Ridgell spent one day last week with Billy Ray and Joy Shaver of Hamburg. Willie and I enjoyed Launer and Arleen West of Hope visiting us a while Friday. Ashley, Doris Ridgell's great granddaughter, spent Friday night with her. On Sunday Herbie brought dinner and ate with his mother and great granddaughter. Ashley and Kelsey did some house cleaning for her. Margie Compton of Hot Springs visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas one day last week. Elva Jane Hooks, her mother and niece visited Cathrine Hooks and Mae Blount Thursday. Kathleen Hooks and Richard Hubbard visited them Sunday. Pete Jester and Allen Dale went deer hunting in the northern part of the state and over the weekend. Theresa and Courtney Jackson spent the weekend with their grandmother, Cathryn Jester, and Uncle Jimmy Joe Jester. A thought: To make the world a friendly place, one must show it a friendly face.
