Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, November 11, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Activities are planned this week at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center. The center still has crafts to sell and it is also taking donations on the quilt. The drawing for the quilt will be on December 18. Bingo is played each Monday. There are games and exercises on other days. We would like to thank the volunteers who helped with our fish fry on Saturday evening of the Forest Festival. The monthly council meeting will be on Tuesday, November 17. Some of the seniors will go on a shopping trip November 18. We again want to thank Ann Smith and Charlyne Wells for their help on the lunch routes, also Billie Jean Miller and Gloria Bennet. Volunteers are an important part of the center. The election of new officers and board members will be in December. We have been having good crowds and we love to see all those 60 and over, too. The center is a United Way Agency. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
