Community NewsJerine HatleyPublished Wednesday, November 18, 1998 in the Gurdon Times Appreciation services for three years of dedicated service will be held November 21 and 22 for Rev. and Sis. L. B. Beard of St. Clair Baptist Church in the Burtsell community on Highway 51 South, between I-30 and Okolona. Pre-musical is Saturday, November 21, at 6:00 p.m. Anniversary hour will be Sunday, November 22, at 3:00 p.m. Special guests will include Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ, Elder Jimmy Talley, pastor and speaker, and Shady Grove Baptist Church of Camden, Dr. J. N. Bass, pastor. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Rev. L. B. Beard, pastor. Muldrew Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is having a harvest rally Sunday, November 22, at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Pastor Quintin Radford and the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church family of Gurdon are proud to announce that on Saturday, December 12, at 6:00 p.m., deacon Joe Keith Crow will bring his first message. He is the son of Mack and Wanda Crow, husband of Carolyn Crow and father of Travon and Ebony Crow. Everyone is welcome. Evangelist Betty Gulley of Gurdon was ordained in Oklahoma and is proud pastor of the Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon. She is the daughter of James and Fannie Hawthorne. We are very proud of you and may God's blessings be ever yours 'the Prayer Warriors.' Laura Grigsby of the Okolona community visited her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hura Dean Grigsby, and their family in Hot Springs Sunday and spent the night. Cameron Rhinehart of Benton, son of Burl and Vivian Rhinehart, and grandson of Jerine Hatley and Fred Hatley, killed his first eight-point deer on Saturday, November 14. He also attend Gurdon High School. We are very proud of you. Elehue Bunn of Los Angeles, Calif., is here deer hunting and visiting his sister, Minnie L. Glen, and family, his brother and sisiter-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Darthy Bunn and family of Gurdon and other relatives and friends in the surrounding area. Lenard and Elssie Hatley of Chidester and Belinda Gentry and Leodis Lyons of Gurdon are the proud grandparents and great grandparents of a baby girl, born to Rev. and Mrs. Spencer Hughes of El Dorado last weekend.
