Morrow Names Missouri Poultry President

Published Wednesday, November 18, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

Doyle Morrow, agriculture manager for Cargill's Honeysuckle White turkey complex in California, Mo., was named president of the Missouri Poultry Federation at the annual convention of that association in Springfield recently.

Morrow has served on the executive board of the federation since 1996 and as a member of the scholarship committee and the poultry environmental task force since they were formed.

A former resident of Prescott, he is also involved in regional and national poultry organizations; the Quad State (Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma) and National Poultry Dialogue Committee.

He serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, and on the environmental steering committee of the National Turkey Federation.

Cargill was his first job after graduation from the University of Arkansas, where he received his masters degree in poultry science in 1976, and he has been employed by Cargill without interruption since then. In 1986, Doyle moved to California, Mo., from Ozark, Ark., to assume his current position at Cargill's Calmo plant.

He is responsible for the breeders, hatchery, feed mill, grow out and live haul of more then ten million turkeys annually. Some of these are exported to foreign markets and select ones are destined to be Honeysuckle White products at local grocers.

He and his wife, Debbie, live on a small farm in Russelville, and are both horse enthusiasts. They have two sons, Todd, who resides in New Jersey, and Travis, who is stationed in Guam.
