The week of September 20-24 we enjoyed several activities. We played bingo Monday, and there was a council meeting. Tuesday evening was dine out night. On the 23rd, Allen Wimberly, Gurdon High School band director, brought some students to play for us.

We want to congratulate them, from beginner to advanced students all did a wonderful job.

Friday I attended the graduation of my grandson, James Shearin, from the State Police Academy in East Camden. He is with the Hot Spring County Sheriff's office. I have another grandson, Travis Vance, who is a member of the Clark County Sheriff's office. I am very proud of them both.

This week we will play bingo, have singing and celebrate birthdays. Those with birthdays are Hazel Walters, Edith Benson, Jo DeWoody, Laura Grisby, Martha Haltom, Charlyne Wells, William Campbell, Arletha Allen, Harold Gulledge, Mauva Sue Humphries, Vesta Marshall, Bennie Freeman, Addie Moore, Henra Lou Wells and Geneva Everitt.

We wish to thank Clarence and Martha Haltom for taking lunch to the homebound on Monday and Tuesday of each week.

We have been so thankful for the cooler weather. Come and join us at the center. Everyone enjoys visiting with their friends and joining in the activities.

The Cover Girls are quilting again. We are few in number, but we get the job done.

The center is a program of the Central Arkansas Development Council and a United Way agency.
