Tony Lendale StewardPublished Wednesday, November 18, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneTony Lendale Steward, 42, of Prescott died Saturday, October 31, 1998. Mr. Steward was born in Prescott August 13, 1956, the son of the late L.T. and Annie Stueart. He married Laura Diane Dickers on September 14, 1979. To this union four children were natured, step-daughter, Latoya Monique Dickerson; two sons, Tony Lendale Steward Jr., Isaac Lorenzo Steward and a daughter Aiesha Rena Steward. Tony started his Christian journey as a youth at the Prescott Church of God in Prescott. He attended Bay Ridge Christian College in Kendleton, Texas, to continue his Christian studies in music. He toured with the BRCC Choir as a solo vocalist. He worked with Tenneco Pipeline for 18 years. He took early retirement in May 1997, after which he became a mail carrier for the Herald Coaster in Rosenberg, Texas. After marriage, he confessed his church affiliation to Galilee Baptist Church in Wallis, Texas. During his years of church service he sang with the group Restoration and the Galilee Baptist Choir, where he served as the assistant choir director. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a brother, Paul Edward Stueart; and his mother-in-law, Betty Agnes Dickerson. Survivors include his wife, Laura Diane Steward of Wallis, Texas, whom he married September 14, 1979; four loving children, Latoya Dickerson, Tony Steward Jr., Isaac Steward and Aiesha Steward all of Wallis, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patricia Ann and Rev. Willie Dean of Stillwater, Okla., Gloria and Herman Flenory of Prescott and Eloise Grinning of Prescott; six brothers, L.T. Stueart, Carl Edwin Stuart, Robbie Ray Stueart, Kenneth Charles Stueart and Michael Wayne Stueart, all of Brookshire, Texas, and Joseph Neal Stuart of Katy, Texas; three great aunts, Elise VanHook of Prescott, Essie Miller of Huntsville, Ala., and Rose Green of Carson City, Calif.; three aunts, Galvester Butler of Prescott and Betty Spearman and Josie Mimms of Kansas City, Mo., father-in-law, Varise Dickerson and Izella Dickerson of Kendleton, Texas; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Dickerson of Kendleton, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Datron Lang, Pamela Hatton and Shirley Brown all of Wallis, Texas; five brothers- in-law, Danny Dickerson, Thomas Lang, Patrick Hatton and Kermit Brown all of Wallis, Texas, and Carl Dickerson of Kendleton, Texas; 19 nieces; 16 nephews; three great nieces; five great nephews; God-daughter, Denevia Bradshaw of Wallis, Texas; special friends, Queenie Stueart of Brookshire, Texas, Joseph Cherry of Wallis, Texas, Earl Brown of Houston, Texas, and Lillie Lewis of Katy, Texas, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
