Run little deer, our dears are after you. Deer season is the big news this week.

Our son, Willie Hugh, is spending a few days with us to deer hunt. Saturday afternoon he killed a nice 8-point buck.

Bennie Jo and Arliss Kelly, daughter Kristi and Katie Holder of Port Arthur, Texas, spent the weekend with Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas. Arliss stayed at night with his brother and sister-in- law, J.D. and Mildred. Other visitors in the Lucas home were Margie Lucas, Syble Brown, Frank Wilson, Annie Mae Hooks, Diane Blankenship, Angie Copeland and baby Paige, Bill Joe Walthall, Doyle Everett Hooks, Theresa and Jewel Grifford, Derinda Hartsfield, daughter Krystal and friend Bill Crayne, Mike and Denise Anderson, Jason and Ashton, and Mildred and J.D. Kelly. If I missed anyone, I'm sorry.

I enjoyed Doyle Everett Hooks' visit with me Saturday morning.

Diane, Billy and Chad Blankenship, Angie Copeland and baby Paige, Agatha Cowart and Gaywin Golden visited Annie Mae Hooks during the weekend. Chad and Billy are doing some deer hunting.

I want to correct a mistake. Pete Jester and Dale Allen went bear hunting in the northern part of the state instead of deer hunting last weekend.

Everett and Mary Ann Orren watched the Arkansas and Tennessee football game with Jim and Leann Meador Saturday.

Robert Orren visited his great grandmother Chloe Orren during the week. Her son, Everett, and his wife, Mary, are so good to visit her every week.

Tommy, Hershel and Doyle Everett Hooks spent the weekend here. Tommy and Hershel did some deer hunting and they always visited their mother, Catherine.

Sabrina Otwell and children visited Katie Pittman one day last week.
