NEVADA LADY JAYS 35

The Lady Blue Jays got off to a slow start Friday night as they had a hard time finding the goal. In fact they had a hard time finding the offense court.

When they got the ball to mid-court (when they could), it was hard for them to go any further, while on the other end the Lady Bears were having a field day with easy lay-ups.

The Lady Bears led 30-8 at halftime with the final score being 59-35 in favor of Bradley.

Ramona Evans was the only Lady Jay scoring in the first period. The senior girls couldn't even sink a free throw. It wasn't much better in the second period with two more free throws missed and only six points scored.

Coach Gloria Johnson woke them up during halftime intermission and in the third quarter they only allowed Bradley seven points. However, the Lady Jays only scored 12 themselves, not near enough for a come-back.

The final period was worse as the Lady Jays permitted the Lady Bears 22 points while only scoring 15.

Iesha Manning and Carone Harris led the victors with 20 points apiece.

Evans was Nevada's leading scorer with 14 points, eight of those in the third period.

BRADLEY BEARS 66

NEVADA BLUE JAYS 53

Greg Davis scored 32 points for the Bradley Bears in a 66-53 victory over the Nevada Blue Jays Friday night. It was the fourth loss for the Jays and moved their record to 4-4.

The Bears out-scored Nevada 15-12 in the first period and had them 25-20 at halftime. In the third period Bradley added 19 more points while Nevada added only 10.

Nevada fought back in the last period with 23 points, but Bradley just almost as well with 22 points.

Jerrun Lewis was Nevada's leading scorer with 15 points.

BLEVINS LADY HORNETS 49

Blevins gave the Lady Jays a tough battle on Tuesday of last week in a 7AA Central struggle. It could have been anyone's ball game, but the Lady Jays finally prevailed 56-49.

Nevada led after the first quarter 14-7, but Blevins had closed the gap by halftime to 28- 23. The Lady Jays again went to work and widened the spread to a 44-35 lead after three periods.

Jennifer White of Blevins was the game's leading scorer with nine field goals for 18 points. Team Made Dana Lovette scored 12 points, three two-pointers and two three- pointers.

Ramona Evans led Nevada with 16 points, hitting five field goals and six of 10 free throws.

Shiheta Henry added 15 for the Lady Jays, seven two-pointers and one free throw.

NEVADA BLUE JAYS 90

BLEVINS HORNETS 72

The Nevada Blue Jays had a good second half against Blevins on Tuesday of last week after starting off slow. They finally won it 90-72.

They only scored 12 points the first quarter while the Hornets had 14 points on the board.

Things changed in the second quarter as the Jays came alive and went ahead 33-25 by halftime. They added 26 more points in the third quarter to make it 59-45 going into the final period, when they padded the lead with 31 points..
