Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be in Prescott in the Social Security room in the courthouse on Thursday, October 22, Tuesday, November 24, and Tuesday, December 22, from 9 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind children. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213. Mom's In Touch Pray group meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Christmas and Candlelight in Old Washington will be Saturday, December 5, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives and the Old Washington Historic State Park and volunteers will begin making the decorations the week of November 30. The decorations will be made of cedar, pine, holly and berries. The park is beautiful with decorations and 3,000 luminaries lining the walkways from historic house to house. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the archives. The December Chamber of Commerce coffee will be hosted by the Southwest Arkansas Development Council. It will be held Thursday, December 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Prescott Senior Citizen Center. Everyone is invited to attend this Christmas open house and coffee. The regularly monthly meeting of the Prescott Band Boosters has been rescheduled for December 3 at 7:00 due to the band marching in Hope's Christmas parade on December 1.
