Oak GroveLula Q. KendrickPublished Wednesday, November 25, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Harvest Day Program was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Sunday, November 15. Harvest address was by Sis. Gloria Young from Bethel A.M.E. Church in Rosston. Bessie Blake's funeral was held Saturday at the C.M.E. Church in Chidester. Rev. Fort is the pastor. Sister Fannie Young had surgery last week at the Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She came home last week. Clyde Simpson is still in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. James Charles visited his Aunt Girtie Blake last week. She is still on the sick list. The Young Singers anniversary was held at Oak Grove Saturday night and ended up at Bethel A.M.E. Sunday afternoon. Willie Ray Williams stopped by to see George and me Sunday afternoon on his way back to Little Rock. Sis. Lareace Burse and others from the Church of God in Christ attended the conformation in Memphis, Tenn., over the weekend. She said she had a joyous time in the Lord. She will be dong her first message Saturday night, November 21. Come out and support her. She can witness for the Lord. Markus Bell did three nights meeting at the Church of God in Christ at Oak Grove community last week. He is the son of Martin Bazzelle. He is a nice person.
