Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Lots of deer were killed in our area last week. Hershel Hooks killed a 10-point buck, Tommy Hooks an eight-point and Willie killed a big 10-point.

Jackie and Georgia Johnson, Doug and Carol Johnson and some grandchildren left for home Wednesday after spending some time with their mother, Mildred Johnson, and doing some deer hunting. They killed some deer in route home. Jackie and Georgia had car trouble and are stranded in Mississippi. They had to order car parts.

Dawn and Paul Rudd of Camden spent Friday night with Katie Pittman and Judy Beardsley. Paul killed a nice 6-point deer Friday.

Billy Blankenship spent the week with his mother-in-law, Annie Mae Hooks, to deer hunt. Friday night Chad and Jodie Blankenship, Diane Blankenship, and Paul, Angie and baby, Paige Copeland came for the weekend. Some of them did some deer hunting and killed some deer.

Wanda Steven spent Sunday with Doris Ridgell and Kay Wren. Herbie Ridgell and others of the family visited during the week.

Bennie Blount and family are spending a few days with his mother, Mae Blount. Roy Brown spent from Tuesday to Friday in Wadley Hospital. He is home. Let's remember all our sick in prayer.

I got good news last night. Our son, Charles, and his wife of Mayesville, S.C., plan to come home during the Christmas holidays.

God we thank you for our food, for rest and home and all things good, for wind and rain and sun above but most of all for those we love.
