Last week's news:

Deer season is in full speed. Don't know about the kill, but there is a lot of moving around.

Russ Carlton had his surgery on the 12th. He is home and doing very well. He has quite a bit of pain, but hope he is going to be much better.

Sorry to report the death of Ed Martin. Services were on Saturday. He was the coach and also superintendent of the school at Bodcaw as well as other places. W.R. and Pat Almand of Memphis attended the funeral and visited with Maudie Miller.

This past Monday, three ladies from Bodcaw #2, Carolyn Butler, Linda Buster and Nettie Ann Bowman, our pastor's wife, left for a few days to visit Branson, Mo. Linda Buster and Carolyn Butler came home Thursday. Our pastor drove to Branson to join his wife in honor of their 44th wedding anniversary. They returned home Saturday. All reported that they had a good time.

Mike Fairchild of Dallas came to hunt a few days and to visit with Maudie Miller.

Lynn and Charlotte Almand from Louisiana are here for a couple of weeks to hunt.

On Friday night Earlene Butler, Moriore Butler, Mary Jo Gregory and Virginia Williams attended a gospel concert at Texarkana college. Reported a good time.

Marie Tye is spending a few days in El Dorado with daughter, Janette. and family.

Richard Miller of Idabel, Okla., spent some time with mom, Maudie Miller, and attended the Martin services.

Harland and Nedra McKelvy came by Sunday afternoon and we drove around to see some beautiful colored leaves. They will soon be gone, because of a visit from Jack Frost.

Jennifer Baker had knee surgery and is improving. She spent a few days at mom's, Ellen Smith, in Hope.

Ervin Fairchild of Prescott visited a while on Sunday with Maudie Miller.

Bro. Fairchild is better and ready to go to the deer camp.
