Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, December 2, 1998 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Senior Adult calender for the month of December is not completed, but there will be activities scheduled. Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving holiday. I was happy to have some of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for a get-together on Thanksgiving eve. The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is planning an open house for December 10. It will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a time that the center invites citizens of Gurdon and the surrounding communities to come and see our building and to celebrate with us. The center has been in the building at 410 East Main since July 1991, when we had the dedication service. We wish to thank the Cabe Foundation and Austin and Mary Lou Capps for the way that they have contributed to the center. We are proud of our staff, Charlotte Shepherd, county coordinator, Naomi Brown, site director and our wonderful staff. To the volunteers who are delivering lunches to the homebound, we appreciate you very much. The center will be electing officers for 1999 in December. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
