Artesian Arts League To Hold Christmas PlayPublished Wednesday, December 2, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneAre you looking for an alternative this Christmas to the old, traditional Joseph, Mary and the Three Wise Men Christmas Play? If so, look no further, here is 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!' It will be presented by Artesian Arts League Friday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prescott City Hall Auditorium. Ticket prices will be $6 for members of Artesian Arts League members; $6 for children; or $8 for all non-members. Tickets may be purchased at Prescott Flowers, Taylor's Big Star and the Prescott/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce. The hilarious story concerns the efforts of a woman and her husband to put on the annual church Christmas pageant despite having to cast the Herdman kids probably the meanest, nastiest, most inventively awful kids in the history of the world. You won't believe the mayhem and the fun when the Herdmans meet the Christmas story in a head-on collision. 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,' offers fun for the entire family. You will laugh at the antics from the awful Herdman family, featuring such locals as Katherine Lavender, Jessica Honea, Chase Haynes, Alex Haynes, Stephan Haynes and Jonathon Miller. Watch the change that happens when they learn the true meaning of Christmas. You will have sympathy for the mother (Denise Haynes) as she is elected to direct the Christmas pageant after Mrs. Armstrong (Melva Morman) breaks her leg. The play finally comes together and everyone is satisfied with its outcome. 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever' promises to delight all who attend. You'll laugh and you may even shed a tear.
