BodcawAline ClausPublished Wednesday, December 2, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and didn't stuff too much. There were a lot of visiting and family gatherings over the long holiday. J.D and Marie Allen had Mike, Jackie and Amy Allen from Lincoln, Andy and Coleen Allen of Hot Springs, Pat, and Butch and Jason Wilbanks of Little Rock. Julie Wilbanks had to wok and missed out on the goodies. Chris Butler from Ft. Sill, Okla., had a weekend pass. He hunted a little bit, but had no luck. We had our meal on Friday night. All were here except Chad, Brandi and Wesley. Maudie Miller had all of her family together. She told me that grandson Joshua Lane had been called to preach. He preached at Bodcaw on Sunday and Jeremy Kretz directed the singing. Maudie enjoyed seeing two grandsons perform. We had Bro. Mark Falkner preach for us. We enjoyed having him. We had fellowship at noon and all enjoyed it. Ruth Bakers, the Aaron Family, had their Thanksgiving in the fellowship hall. There was a big turn-out. I can't name all of them. A good time was had by all. I missed little Walker Flowers' ride in the mutton buster event at the Hempstead County Fair Stampede. He won second place with a score of 56 points. Way to go, Walker. I am sure most everyone had family members in, but not many told me about it. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
