Published Wednesday, December 2, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneLADY JAYS 36 Nevada's junior girls did something Prescott's junior squad couldn't do score as the Lady Jays posted a 36-25 win in the opener Monday night. Again, the pace was frenetic as both squads pushed the ball up and down the hardwood, but the Lady Jays were able to convert more shots. By the end of one, Nevada led 10-6, and held an advantage of 20-14 at the half. However, the Cubbettes misfired in the third period and found themselves on the short end of a 31-14 score. Tiffany Smith led Prescott with 12 points. Loudermill and Harding paced Nevada with 14 each. Nevada was six of 19 at the line, while Prescott was nine of 22.
