College NewsPublished Wednesday, December 9, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneSeveral HSU graduates from Prescott will be taking part in the winter commencement exercises December 18 at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. Over 200 undergraduates and approximately 60 graduate students will be marching in the ceremony. Graduating from Prescott with a bachelor of science in recreation is Patrick O'Neal Nixon; with a bachelor of science in education in elementary education are Traci Leigh Ellis, Jerri Carol Glass, Tammy Kay Glass and Mendy Jester. Jerri Carol Glass and Tammy Kay Glass are cum laude graduates. David Gardner, associate professor of mathematics and computer science, and Dr. Carl Stark, professor of business, will provide the faculty charges at the commencement 6 p.m. and at 8 p.m. respectively, in Wells HPER Center Gymnasium. Summer Yvette Futrell will provide the student response for the 6:00 p.m. ceremony and Elena Kiryanova will provide the student response for the 8:00 p.m. ceremony. Undergraduates from the Ellis College of Arts and Sciences and graduate students receiving a master of liberal arts will be attending the 6:00 p.m. ceremony. Undergraduates from the Schools of Business and Education and graduate students receiving a master of business administration, a master of science, a master of science in education will be attending the 8:00 p.m. ceremony.
