Gang Expert SpeaksPublished Wednesday, December 9, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayuneSteve Nawojczyk will present a gang violence summit to the Prescott community on December 14 at the Prescott Middle School at 6 p.m. The public is invited. There is no admission fee. This program is being sponsored by the Boys to Men and Girls to Women Coalitions of Prescott. Nawojczyk retired in 1994 as Pulaski County Coroner in Little Rock and has served as advisor to the Arkansas Attorney General's Youth Gang Task Force since 1993. He began his research on gangs and juvenile violence in 1987. Nawojczyk has been featured in the New York Times, in PBS's Jobs A Way Out?, and on HBO in its America Undercover series, Gang War: Bangin' in Little Rock. Nawojczyk is currently a consultant to schools, businesses and communities on the dynamics of gangs and non-traditional solutions to youth violence.
