Yes, as requested, I'll try once again to give some news of Emmet. Emmet is grateful to have home from the hospital Nita Stephens, she is still recuperating from the train wreck that happened on November 5. Neli Duncan is still recuperating from surgery as well. I apologize for not being aware of others that may have had surgery or sick. We wish all a speedy recovery. Our birthday list includes Holly McKinnon for Nov. 20; Dec. 1, Brock Richardson, Willie Gilbert, Rodney McClellan and Robin Smith; Dec. 2, Eugene Hopson; Dec. 4, Jim Faulkner, Jeana Gutierrez and Latisha Harris; Dec. 5, Holly Otwell and Kendall Stanhouse; Dec. 6, John Baker, Robbie Booker and John R. Baker; Dec. 7, Sheree Welch and Joe Stephens; Dec. 9, Brenda Miller, Frank Hale and Brenda Tipton; Dec. 11 Crystal White; and Dec. 12, Sue Harden and school teacher Leslie Taylor. Happy birthday and many more. The Emmet City Council will meet at its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, December 9, at city hall. The basketball senior boys and girls and junior boys and girls have been steadily working hard since October 20 when they played their first home game. With many more games left I'll try to get more update on the games. Pee wee basketball will be heading up soon as well. I hope you are one who is supporting your school and children whether they play ball or not. Remember, it is your school and we are all on the same team. The PTA met December 3. Karen Gutierrez, president wishes to thank those who purchased from the 'Pampered Chief' fund-raiser. PTA is currently working towards new school gym lockers and school hall lockers. Some donations have been made towards this project. All donations are greatly appreciated. The E.V.A (Emmet Vision Association) will have a float in Prescott's parade Tuesday, December 8, as well as Emmet's 5th annual Chirstmas Parade Night of Lights, to be held December 12 at 5:30, starting at the Emmet schools. Following the parade everyone is invited to City Hall for refreshments. Anyone who wishes to be in the parade should call 887-5049. We would love to have as many floats, bands, etc., from other parades as well that would like to come. The elementary cheerleaders will have it's drawing for the 'Peace' Beanie Baby December 10 to raise money for uniforms and supplies. Thank you for your support and good luck.
