Henry C. NiehussPublished Wednesday, December 9, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesHenry C. 'Buddy' Niehuss, 84, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Arkadelphia and Gurdon, died Friday, December 4, 1998, at his home. Mr. Niehuss was born March 22, 1914, in El Dorado, the son of the late Henry Hosea and Martha Ann Kitchens Niehuss. He was a retired lumberman, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gurdon and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert 'Bobby' Niehuss. Survivors include his wife, Opal Barringer Niehuss of Dallas; one daughter, Barrie Cravel of Dallas; four grandchildren; and one niece, Ann Smith of Fort Smith. Graveside services were held Monday, December 7, at Arlington Memorial Gardens in El Dorado under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia with the Rev. Dennis Falasco officiating.
