Thomas DeWoodyPublished Wednesday, December 9, 1998 in the Gurdon TimesThomas 'Tom' DeWoody, 72, of Gurdon died Thursday, December 3, 1998. Mr. DeWoody was a retired employee of Arkla Gas Pipeline Division, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of DAV and American Legion, a past member of Gurdon Masonic Lodge and an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jo Hale DeWoody; two daughters, Sharon Patterson and her husband David of El Dorado, and Brenda Horne and her husband Tony of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Gretchen, Sandi, Adam and Tara; and two great grandchildren, Lauren and Austin. Services were held Saturday, December 5, at Horne Funeral Home Chapel in Gurdon. Interment was in Bluff City Cemetery in Nevada County. Arrangements were under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Gurdon or to a favorite charity.
