Army National Guard Pfc. Julius L. Gulley has graduated from the food service specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

The service member learned to prepare and serve food in large and small quantities, baking methods, field kitchen operations and general operations of army dining facilities.

Gulley is the son of Jenny B. and Fredrick L. Henry of Rosston. The private is a 1999 graduate of Nevada High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Lisa M. Harrison has entered basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will study the army mission and will receive instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, army history and traditions and special training in human relations.

Harrison is the daughter of Audra L. Dougan of Emmet and James W. Harrison of North Richland Hills, Texas.
