The Hot Springs District Planning Council will convene with Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon December 19 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Betty Gulley, pastor, will bring the message. Everyone is invited.

Pastor Johnny C. Harris and the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church family is proud to announce that on Sunday, December 20, at 3:00 p.m. they will ordain two deacons, Bro. Phillip Giles and Bro. Samuel Hardwick. Everyone is welcome for this special occasion.

Muldrew C.M.E. Church in Gurdon at 4th and Jones St. is having a Christmas play entitled The Stable Mouse performed by the Muldrew youth group on December 20 at 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Ronald Scott, pastor.

There will be a Christmas gospel musical Saturday night, December 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon. Everyone and all churches are welcome. There will be quartet singing, various choirs, groups and soloists. Rev. Betty Gulley, pastor. Sis. Johnnie Allen, emcee.

Sunday, December 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the old senior citizens building on Plum Street, there will be a special service. Special guests include evangelist Mary Jones of El Dorado, evangelist Mary Smith of Homer, La., evangelist Betty Barnett of Ferriday, La., and other guest evangelists. Everyone is welcome to this service. Rev. Freddie Young, pastor in charge.

The New Mt. Zion Christmas program will be immediately after Sunday school. Everyone is welcome. Sis. Marsha Hatley, Sis. Barbara Dickens and Sis. Elnora Gatlin are in charge. Rev. Quintin Radford, pastor.

The Melody Aires were not able to perform on Sunday, December 13, at First Memorial Church of God In Christ, because of death in the families. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

Women in Red Sunday, December 27, at 3:00 p.m. at the Union A.M.E. Church in Chidester. Everyone is welcome. Special guest, Bethel A.M.E. Church of Gurdon, Rev. Betty Gulley, pastor and speaker. Rev. Folstene Quarles, pastor.

Sis. Lila J. Bell of Gurdon has had surgery at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia and is reporting to be doing fair.

Mrs. Gussie Kellisburogh of Omaha, Neb., is here visiting her sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Andy Hatley, her nephew, William Hunter, and his wife of Beirne, a brother, Henry Bell, of Gurdon and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

The third Sunday night fellowship singing will convene with Bethel Independent Church of Gurdon Sunday, December 20, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone and all churches are welcome. Bro. Roosevelt House and Bro Leodis Lyons are in charge. Rev. Daniel Flemons, pastor.
