Holly's Health Mart Completes CertificationPublished Tuesday, December 15, 1998 in the Nevada County PicayunePharmacy Home Care Accreditation of Simpsonville, S.C., has announced that Holly's Health Mart of Prescott has completed certification and has been accredited. Holly's Health Mart provides home health care equipment, respiratory and oxygen equipment and supplies, complete pharmacy services and home I.V. therapy. Holly's provides pharmacy services to Prescott, Nevada County and surrounding areas and provides home medical, oxygen, respiratory equipment and home I.V. therapy within a 75-mile radius of Prescott. According to J.F. Fortune, chairman of Pharmacy Home Care Accreditation, receiving a certificate of accreditation is a lengthy process that takes over 12 months to complete. Holly's has completed all three phases of the accreditation process, passed its survey and became accredited in early December. "In today's home health care industry," according to Gary Lewis, a pharmacist at Holly's, "certification and accreditation are essential. It spells quality and professionalism, and tells payors, referral sources and the patient that you have met the toughest standards in the industry." Pharmacist Holly Ross added 'This is a long process of training, staff education and documentation requirements designed to meet the standards established by the Food and Drug Administration, Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety Hazard Administration and the Health Care Financing Administration." Kay Hendrix, Home Medical Equipment manager for Holly's, said, "Receiving accreditation is not presently required for home medical equipment, pharmacy and home I.V. therapy, it was simply something we wanted to do to insure that our patients are receiving the very best care possible. With the every changing rules, regulations and standards in home health care services, patient care is what it's all about. At Holly's Health Mart, we will continue to provide all our employees with continuous education to always meet, or exceed those standards with the best patient care possible," J.F. Fortune, chairman of Pharmacy Home Care Accreditation, presented the certificate of accreditation to Lewis, Ross and Hendrix on December 11.
