Published Tuesday, December 15, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune

Michael Robert 'Starbuck' Fraser, 19, passed away to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 5, 1998, in his sleep at Florida State University. He had been ill for three days with fever and his beautiful heart expired. Preliminary medical examination showed that he died a natural death and probable cause showed he died of heart arrhythmia. But be comforted in knowing that he was not alone as his beloved brother, Dominick, was with him throughout the last days of his life and by his side that night.

Buck was a sophomore at Florida State University and a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. He attended Westminister Christian School and graduated from Palmetto Senior High School. He was born August 24, 1979, in Miami, Fla., and he was miraculously saved by the Lord at birth.

He gave his parents, brothers, sisters, family and friends wonderful joy and memories throughout his 19 years on earth. He loved his friends and they said how he was as loyal as could be. He weighed 130 pounds, but when it came to his heart for his friends, he weighed 250. He loved the sea, he loved his truck, he loved country music, he loved sports, and he played them all. He loved his housekeeper, Michelle McPhee, who was like a second mother to him, and he loved Lisa McCary, the love of his life. He spent his last Thanksgiving with his family and dear sister, Angel, and brother-in-law, Carter Logan, at their home.

We'll all love and miss you forever Starbuck, and we thank God for giving us you for those 19 wonderful years, but we know that you're God's warrior now, and we'll see you agin in heaven. Goodbye wonderful and blessed son.

Survivors include his parents Lewis and Ameilia Fraser; brothers and sisters, Amelia (Mimi) Louise Fraser, Lewis Alfred Fraser II, Jack Harrell Fraser, Joseph-Brad King Fraser, Kirk Dominick Fraser and Marion Angel Elizabeth Fraser; and 10 nieces and nephews. He is pre- deceased by his grandparents, Dr. Lynn Jack and Louise Bright Harrell and Frank Leslie and Margaret McCormack Fraser.

Funeral services were Saturday, December 12, at Old Culter Presbyterian Church in Miami. Funeral arrangement was entrusted to Stanfill Funeral Home in Miami, Fla.

Memorials may be made to Old Cutler Presbyterian Church, 14401 Old Cutler Rd., Miami, FL 33158.
