KendrickPublished Tuesday, December 15, 1998 in the Nevada County Picayune Memorial services were held Tuesday for Charlie Haynie Jr., December 1 at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 5, at Harrison Chapel Baptist Church in Rosston. Known as 'Bubba,' he was born in Rosston. He was the son of Charley and Martha Haynie of Rosston. Choir day was held at New Bethel A.M.E. Church Sunday, December 13, with sermon by Rev. Jerry Bishop and guest choir being Lumber Community Choir. Lenard Paden's funeral was held Saturday, December 5. Lenard was the son of Blake Paden. Mrs. Johnnie Marsh had a stroke last week. She is in the hospital in Texarkana. She is doing pretty good at the present. Jean Martin Dansby is in the hospital in Little Rock. She had surgery. Jean is the sister of Mrs. Velma Mixon of Rosston. The Christmas program will be held at Cana A.M.E. Church December 30. There will be a two-night revival at New Bethel A.M.E. Church December 31. Mrs. Vera Purifoy's sister Velma, and her husband and daughter visited her Thanksgiving from Dallas, Texas. Eric Johnson visited George and me Saturday. He lives in Hope and is doing good.
